Every great community needs and deserves a great hospital, and the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro will undoubtedly be among the best in the country.
Slated to open in May 2012, the new, state-of-the art hospital will be a dynamic center of medicine and technology, comfort and compassion, disease prevention and education. The new hospital will reflect the most advanced thinking about the way people interact as they work toward health and healing.
The new hospital and 171-acre medical campus will be conveniently located off of Route 1, with a campus extending from Scudders Mill Road to Plainsboro Road, and from Plainsboro Road to the Millstone River in Plainsboro, just 2.5 miles from the center of Princeton.
The campus will include a modern medical office building attached to the hospital, a world-class education center, a health and fitness center, a skilled nursing facility, a pediatric services facility and a beautiful 32-acre public park.
Designed by a team of internationally renowned architects and consultants, who gathered input from physicians, employees, patients and community members, the new hospital will be built using the latest in green building techniques. The goal is to minimize the hospital’s impact on the environment and provide the best conditions for patients.
Community support for the new hospital, a $447 million project, has been overwhelming and continues to grow through the Design for Healing capital campaign.
Since 1919, University Medical Center at Princeton has provided generations of patients with outstanding care. This exciting move enables the hospital to continue its longstanding history of providing advanced care and personalized service for generations to come.
