Where you born and raised?
I was born in Seoul, Korea but my family moved to the US in 1976. I was raised and attended schools in Middlesex County, New Jersey.
What are your favorite sports/clubs/hobbies?
I really enjoyed Tae Kwon Do for nine years before I recently found a new passion for golf. I also like to hike with family and join in on Karaoke time with family and friends.
What are your children’s names?
I have two wonderful children Kristin (20 yrs old) and David (turning 17 in July).
What is the most important piece of advice that you have/will pass on to your children?
I try to tell them to be kind to others and always give back to society.
Can you provide a brief overview of your work history and current title/position? Professional goals? Other civic/community involvement?
I’ve been working as a general dentist for the last twenty years. Some of my patients actually became dentists and are now my colleagues! Professional goals? I try to treat every patient like my family, do what I do best. Outside of professional life, I’m on Board with Hope Autism Foundation which was inspired by my son David who has autism. What is the best career advice you ever received?
Be a forward thinker!
Who was your most influential mentor and what did he/she teach you?
My children are my most influential mentors.. they show me which directions to follow in life.
How did you get involved with KCCP and what is your favorite memory or experience?
I have to say Drs. Sooha Park and Min Kyu Lee were the main force to join the KCCP. My favorite memory would be the KCCP Golf events but I’m happy to hear about the recent purchase of the land and I’d like to applaud the members who worked hard for that to happen.
What advice would you have for the next generation of Korean Americans?
Be proud of being a Korean-American! There are many ways for everyone to give back to society in their own way!
