On May 30th, 2009, over 65 golfers and friends of the Korean Community Center of Greater Princeton (KCCP) gathered on a picture-perfect day at the Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes, N.J., for the 3rd Annual KCCP Golf Benefit and Dinner. Bringing together golfers of all ages and skill levels, the annual event supports fund-raising efforts for the KCCP, which aims to build the nation’s first, truly grassroots- based Korean-American community center. This year’s event raised approximately $5,000 toward the KCCP’s fund-raising efforts and featured numerous prize categories and contests, including outright and Callaway scoring champions, team champions, long drive champions, a putting contest champion, in addition to free giveaways valued at over $10,000. Corporate sponsors for the event included Advanced Food Systems, Inc., The Bank of Princeton, Fox Rothschild, LLP, New York Golf Center in Lawrenceville, NJ, Lawrence Lexus, and others. The mission of the KCCP, formed in 2007 by a group of local business leaders and concerned citizens, is to enhance the quality of Korean-American life by preserving cultural heritage, promoting greater cultural understanding and identity, encouraging self-reliance and concern for others in the community, and to develop a world-class community center that will serve as a focal point for the local Korean-American community.
